Knock Webber down, and instead of Pesce, sign Montour for a 7x7 deal. Cowan or Reaves and timmins in minors and sign liljegren to 2 year 2.8 million. Much better lineup. Go with our usual 30 man lineup vs 23 to start gives the extra salary needed. Montour provides more of what was needed this past playoffs.
Up til now, no team has averaged more hit than Toronto and Boston in a series. We played that so called toughness. We lacked puck movement to bring the puck up the ice from our defence. Montour is much better than Pesce at that

I do not think florida will let montour walk. If they do, i would be all over him. But pesce is more than likely gone so thats why i think this will happen.

Don't sign Lybushkin to an awful contract and you can afford Pesce/Montour.

We could really only afford one if we decide to keep domi. Lyubushkin plays very well in torontos system, just look at how well he did in these playoffs. He was actually moving the puck very well. I think he is worth 3m. Now, if we could afford BOTH montour and pesce, well then DUH i would go do that. But we can only afford a 3m defencemen, and he happens to be the best one for toronto available!

I'd rather sign Edmundsson at 3m instead of overpaying Lyubushkin.

The hope with Florida is they have many many free agents to sign including Reinhart, and with how the team did without Montour this year they may decide decide to not bother resigning him for the price.
