Find it hard to believe Leafs wouldn't match/beat that, it's a fair offer but fair offers don't get you anything in the UFA market lol

I'd be fine if we gave him the same contract as Reilly, he would instantly become our best defenseman and we would finally have an elite RD after all these years

its not, if they are active in the FA market its going to be on a forward, Bringing in Montour after Mailloux is showing lots of promise and with Reinbacher who they just spent the 5th overall pick on just makes little sense.

The contract is pretty fair depending on how may teams are in on him.

6-7 years at 7 mill minimum. Probably at least 7.5 M honestly. Hanifin set the market

I can see KH offing a deal to Montour, even with Mailloux and Reinbacher. If he landed Montour, Reinbacher would spend the entire season in Laval (or be called up after the TDL) and next season the D would be Guhle-Montour, Hutson-Reinbacher, Xhekaj-Mailloux.

Where exactly does Montour fit in MTL?

Guhle
Matheson
Savard
Barron
Struble
Harris
Hutson
Mailloux
Reinbacher
Engstrom
+ the Dman they'll draft 5th overall this year.

I'd rather play the young kids than overpay Montour at the end of his career
