I think Ritchie stays in OHL one more year. He's not ready for a 2C role, and I don't think he's a great fit for 3rd or 4th line use.

I do think they should sign him, though. Show the commitment and start planning for his arrival; they really need him to work out, especially with this Nuke stuff.

From what I've seen (which I have to admit is a lot of clips and some analyst breakdowns, not full games), his game is much more speed/finesse. That works in the OHL, but he'll need to get prepared somehow for a much more physical style to center an NHL second line. My worry, though, is he won't get that in another year of OHL where he's already able to play to his comfort level. Maybe he gets that thrown into the 3C role with the Avs, but the style needed for 3C is different than that of 2C, so I don't know if he gets developed real well in the NHL without a little more seasoning. Just IMO, I wish we could get him one year at the AHL next year, then move him up.

3rd line center with colton wing and wood on other. From what I've read he wants to be like Patrice Bergeron and I think him working on his defensive structure and physicality on 3rd line will help develop into that player.

I think signed and another year OHL, then AHL, slow progression unless he shows leaps and bounds. He's a bona fide prospect but I think the Avs may be better taking the slow route with him, especially after the likes of Jost and Newhook. Just imo.

I agree they might just stick him in the OHL for next year so they figure out the landy and nuke situation
