Swap Lambert for Barlow, and the Isles might do that. I think they'd want a guy who is closer to NHL ready than Barlow.

Fair, my basis of the deal was that the Isles get a replacement in Pulock in Pionk for 1 year that they could flip at the deadline for future assets and keep as well as building up a pretty barren cupboard of a prospect pool. Kupari showed decent in LA just couldn't find consistency or a home in Winnipeg, Barlow is coming off another great year in the O and is a pure leader and will translate that to the NHL. Ves had a great year in Europe and could look to make the move back. Could be a middle 6 option if brought back. The only way i see a Lambert being involved in the trade is if the return is smaller. Pionk, Lambert, 2nd maybe. Just my thoughts

See it as more of a "Cap Crunch" savings for next year. Pretty high 2nd round pick to alleviate that amount of Cap. Gives them flexibility to re sign a Zadorov, Lindholm, Hronek. Got options in Lekkerimaki, Hogs and Podz to replace him in the top 6

I mean we can bring back those guys without making a trade but if we were to move someone it's likely Mikheyev. Don't see Garland being a cap casualty at all, he's been a huge play driver this year for us.

Fair enough, and no disagreement. Just would love him on Winnipeg

I don't think Kupari (9 goals in 160 games) or Ves (left NHL for Europe) add much, if any, value to the trade, so I'd be fine with not including them.

It's definitely a bit more quantity than quality, but Barlow, Pionk, and the 1st make it worth it. The Isles just have to take this deal and make more moves for a retool. I think it's a good trade.

I can't imagine the Isles would be interested in Lambert after we just fired his uncle lol.

The Garland boat has sailed. Canucks aren't moving him.
