I can't see CAR thinking this is reasonable at all. they are trading two potential elite talents with years of control for one overpriced winger that doesn't provide what CAR needs at all

... Oh, oh the size of your... guts... to call this realistic. Oh, that's so funny. Thank you I needed that. No. Neither Jarvis or Nikishin is on the table for your overrated hometown boy. You keep him, we'll keep the 22 year old PPG winger and the best defenseman in the KHL...

    Leafs decline.

We have 2 goal scorers who put up 100 goals between them, fact of life is you need a playmaker to create those scoring chances.

Not another goal suck (not calling Jarvis a goal suck but you get the idea).

Was 70 point winger this year, despite spending half the year with Jordan Staal, where offense goes to die. A full year of him Guentzel, and Aho together? Come on

SO not a PPG player He might be a PPG player one day he might not. Marner who has averaged over 90 pts per 82 in his career is not overrated he IS an elite forward in the NHL it both ends of the rink.

I know this board thinks every prospect is going to be the next Gretzky or Orr but in the NHL when an elite player is traded The return is 3-4 pieces and the Canes would need to add this deal.

Jarvis is a great piece and something the Leaf's would love to add as part of the deal

Nikishin is signed until 2025 and might not even come to the NHL. This would be a huge risk

I would say the Cares would need to add 2 x 1st round picks or a 1st and another prospect to the deal

I am just looking at the value of a trade not weather or not either team would do it

MM has more PPG in the playoffs in his career than Jarvis. Small sample size and sheltered minutes There more to hockey than just points.

Jarvis > Marner now and for the next 10 years...and in any case Marner will want way more is my guess.

so a minimum top 4 Dman for 900k the first two years hes here, and Jarvis a 22 year old for Marner you wouldn't do, really? Let's assume Jarvis gets 8 mil this summer. The fact you wouldn't take those two players at 9 mil vs one winger at 11 mil is exactly why you are in the place you are in.

And no, I dont think KK is a 2C, I always thought he would be best as the 3C, but even that seems like a long shot at this point. He really has been a disappointment this season.
