I would be interested in Chychrun if he extends at a decent price... but not sure thats an option especially if Lohrei continues to emerge. No interest in dealing Freddy though. He is a core piece of the franchise going forward.

From a Boston perspective, the package would probably be built around Ullmark if he would waive for Ottawa.

Boston would have to add a bit but in theory that's not bad for Ottawa.

No reason to trade Joseph. Might as well just keep him, he's our second-best 2-way forward.

I don't mind Kulak.

I think value wise the Frederic trade is probably an overpay by the Sens, but I'd bet the bruins still say no. Frederic is really important to our bottom 6 and we don't really have a need for a top 4 LD anymore with Lohrei playing as well as he has in the playoffs. At least IMO.

With the way Lohrei is playing, I don’t believe they will allocate salary long term to a 4th D. They will allocate funds to a forward and help improve their offense. Also. Frederic contributes more to their forecheck and their toughness. Don’t believe he’d be available

He is an identity/culture player who has shown up in big moments for this team. He is a priority to extend IMO

While I believe Chychrun has the talent to be a core piece, I’m also wondering if he is a 3rd pairing D for us if Lohrei plays up to his ability.

agreed. the emergence of Lohrei has made picking up a top four LD a luxury, not a necessity

agreed. want him around long term. awesome player.....if he is a part of your core, you should be blowing everything up and rebuilding. nowhere near a core player.

I really like Lohrei's long term upside, I just figured Chychrun would pair so well with either Mcavoy or Carlo that he would be worth keeping him down at 3LD until hes really ready

The trade you outlined has logic behind it. Lohrei would pair really well with Peeke from a skill set standpoint. The question is whether they’d prefer a pick and a forward in that same price range in free agency

I think they are signing Lindholm. They should be an attractive option for Bertuzzi, DeBrusk, or Toffoli if they trade Ullmark for a pick

I would NOT be shocked to see a deal like this. Part of me wonders if it was already discussed with Friedman’s east coast team that offered a defenseman and a pick for him

ummmm i think lohrei might be better than chychrun right now. he's sure looked like it this postseason.

I'm as surprised as anyone, i didn't want him anywhere near the playoff lineup.

Yeah its not a slight to Lohrei at all, just a testament to the depth of the defense they would have in this situation

i guess if they view chychrun as a rental that logic could work.
