FORWARDS
Pageau, even at $3M is a significant addition. Huge veteran presence who plays the right way, is loved in Ottawa, and can move up and down the line up but likely slots in at C or RW anywhere in our bottom 6. Great on-ice-coach for the PK too.

I'm giving Crooker and Ostapchuk the edge for bottom 6 spots but Halliday looked fantastic at camp last year and has looked very impressive since joining BEL; he's currently leading the team with 6 points in 5 games. Halliday setting up Pinto and Batherson could be pure fire.
BUT it's far more likely that we use our cap to pick up some veteran talent that other teams are forced to trade/waive and let our ELC players continue to grow their game in the AHL.

DEFENCE
Adding a DeMelo or Tanev would make a massive change in our tandem's Sv%.
These D lines can be juggled but let's not start the season with Kleven and JBD as a pairing.

I would buy out Hamonic if we needed the roster spot or our 1st round pick was a RHD who could potentially push JBD into being our 7th.
