Not opposed to it but I'm waiting to see how everything else shakes out first. Caps need top end forwards but have a lot of depth guys and I don't see where a very expensive Mikheyev fits into their lineup even with the sweetener

Second isn't nothing but for what the Caps' goals are as an organization I think they would rather use that space on either a straight better UFA or trade addition (Stephenson, DeBrusk, etc.) or a cap dump/change of scenery with a higher upside (PLD, Kuzmenko before the Lindholm deal) than commit to having a basically guaranteed 3rd liner for 2 years at 4.75m
