For the 1000 time,

1. Ullmark isn’t worth a top 10 pick

2. Bahl is going to be worth more to NJ than Boston because of the presence of Peeke on the 3rd line (they play a similar role)

And for the responses to this thread

3. Jeremy Swayman is not available. If you think they are trading him after this playoff, lay off the booze for a few weeks to prevent permanent brain damage

4. I don’t care what Vancouver did with their cap problems back in the day

On a side note, that game was fun to watch last night. Now it’s time to get ready for a counter punch from a very good team. While I think the media has made Florida out to be the boogeyman and they are not, I acknowledge the talent level and appreciate it. Boston can win this series, but they need to keep it mucked up.

NJ isn’t trading a top 10 pick for a goalie that’s over 30 years old and Ullmark is definitely not getting an 8 year extension anywhere. If I were to guess, his extension sits around 6-6.5m for 5-6 years

I think this is an obvious deal and everybody is trying to over complicate it, because they are bored with the same discussion over and over.

A 2024 third and a 2025 top 12 protected first or Holtz.

Some team may come in and make a better offer. Maybe NJ prefers the older Markstrom.

Unless NJD makes the decision they don’t want to lock into Mercer long term after last year (which I assume they won’t, but the regression was steep), I think the deal parameters are pretty clear between the two teams.

I agree. I think that Holtz and 2024 WPG 3rd is the base of the deal. I could see another piece being added to the deal such as a B level D prospect like Vilen or Misyul

Yep. It’s been simple for months.

2025 1st as the base. All the details can be haggled out around that.

later picks, minor prospects, depth roster pieces involved, any potential retention, trade protections, conditions, etc.

All the fluff can be figured out around it by the actual GMs

Not sure if it is Holtz or the 2025 first. From my perspective, Holtz likely is better but I don’t believe he is a better RW option than Lysell and the extra ELC timing could have value
