I'd rather just overpay a winger for a 1yr deal. Don't know why Tavares would waive, he holds all the cards.

If the choices are....

Pesce $5.5m x 5 years
Tavares $5.5m x 1 year

...or...

Marino $4.4m x 3 years
"overpaid winger" for 1 year

I think I take the former (I guess it depends who the winger is)

I think I take the former (I guess it depends who the winger is)

Signing Pesce and adding another paid D for that term over being able to clear a spot for Casey just doesn't make sense to me. Rather have Marino to deal when Casey is ready.
