The only realistic way to pry Byfield away from LA would be to OS him.

Agreed with this guy. And unless MTL offer sheets him something crazy like 12m+ is the only way Kings wouldn’t match it.

That I dont agree. If LA decides to extend Roy, Arvidsson and a couple of their depth guys + acquire a 1G, I could see them cornering themselves into only being able to bridge Byfield, which could then open the door to a 8,5m OS

I would agree with you but Byfield is going to get his contract before anyone else on the team. So everyone else’s future with LA is dictated by Byfield not the other way around.
