Marner - Read Description

Created by: Penz87
Team: 2024-25 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: May 5, 2024
Published: May 6, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Everyone:
Does Toronto do this?? Top 6 (maybe top 4) overpaid Dman, 1st, 3rd, and a prospect like Broz or Pickering?
Over pay? Under pay? Equal? Let's hear it.

For Pens Fans:
Defense could use some bolstering on the left side, but there is 6 mill in cap space.

I don't love the top line with Puustinen being on the LW. But I also don't trust DOC being there full time. Although I wouldn't be mad if he was 1LW

Also, would like to get a new 3C, but likely wouldn't be able to happen if we got Marner.

Pit doesn't have anything Toronto would want in return for marner outside of Crosby. A cap dump and a couple picks aren't anywhere close.

That's fair but using the Guentzel trade as a baseline: Cap dump, and 3 mid-tier prospects, and a 2nd. I'm not saying Guentzel is as good as Marner, but I think it should be in that realm. I'm not sure though.

Jake Guentzel is better than Mitchell Marner. Full stop.
