I would accept that offer as the Anaheim GM. However, having paid a first and a fourth to acquire Lundkvist, I think that the Stars will lose a lot of face getting only a third for him.

Congrats on Round Two!

I mean, sure, it's a cheap price to pay, but do we need any more undersized puck movers?

I don't see him as undersized, but I see our right side as undermanned.

Honestly, I don't think you re-sign Pavelski. Love what he's done for the Stars, but the last 6 weeks have me real concerned that Father Time is catching up with him. I'm not against re-signing him, but I'd rather see that $3M go towards re-signing Duchene or adding a player to fill his role on the roster.

Also not sure I see Harley getting a 7 year deal. He's been solid, but if history shows us anything it's that Nill doesn't typically hand out long term deals immediately after an ELC (unless you're Miro Heiskanen). Robertson, Hintz, and Oettinger all produced at a high level for longer than Harley has this season & they all received bridge deals. For Harley, you're looking at a 3-4 year deal & if I had to guess, it's probably going to come in somewhere around what Oettinger got on his contract.

Probably, altho the alternative is losing him to waivers for free.

I doubt he's gonna stay here for much longer since coaching doesn't have trust in him. It was an experiment by Nill that didn't work out.

While I don't disagree with your Pavs notion, I think whoever we sign to his post should a) be relatively cheap and b) come off the books quickly as guys like Johnston and Oettinger need big money contracts quite soon. I think Duchene is going to get better offers elsewhere that we can realistically offer. Benn and Lindell coming off the books within a year certainly helps keeping those guys, but we need to be mindful that the overall money we're paying doesn't break the bank imo. If they can muster a way for it to happen, I would LOVE to get some proven playoff performers in, like Marchessault or maybe Stamkos...but I don't consider this realistic.

Harley offer is more or less "wishful" thinking but I'd love to see the guy getting inked to a long term deal that would pay itself back later down the line, Klingberg esque. I think Harley would be worth such an investment. I do agree tho that it's more likely it'll be a shorter contract with less years in it.

He could be used as a trade chip to bring in the long term solution we would want. I’m thinking a player like Pesce who could probably cost 6 x $6.5. Trade for the rights (and maybe a 4th rounder). If not Pesce then someone else.

Harley - Miro
Lindell - Pesce
Suter/Bischell - Tanev

Not opposed to the idea, but a player like Pesce is likely gonna make 6,5 mil ish on free agency, which we simply can't afford.

You’re right. We would have to ship out Marchment type money to land him.
