I would hope the Pens stay away from what whatever is about to happen in Toronto.

when you think Robertson is a better player than Smith, Eller or Acciari..... apparently he didn't watch the playoffs.

nah, now is the time to capitalize. They are in desperate need to find a threat from the blueline.
BOS left the whole top of the ice open for them, and their defense couldn't do anything with it.
They need a guy to make teams pay for playing so haphazardly. There is no way they will ever win in the playoffs if teams can continue doing that to them. It made it almost impossible for them to score.

There aren't many guys out there who can help with that. The penguins have 2.

When you don't know how to read. Apparently he didn't go to school.

I said more valuable, nothing about being better. Tavares, despite his contract, is still more valuable than any of those pieces, who are at most, worth late round picks. Robertson is obviously worth more than them as well.

yeah it's that whole Obviously part everyone takes issue with, just like Bracco was Obviously then next greatest winger ever.

As for JT.... his contract makes him less valuable than you think. He's slow as hell on the ice. TOR fans know this which is why they want to move him.
Paying a slow player 11 million isn't all that valuable.
Value wise Eller is probably the best value there. 15 goals at 2.4 million is better than 29 at 11 million.
cost per goal is pretty legit there.
But go on there, talk about value.....

Again, not Pittsburgh's problem.

no it's not, but it can be the penguins benefit.
They can move EK there, recoup a 1st and the 2nd(prospect, sure as hell not roberston I think Minten, or a 2nd round pick) that they spent on that trade.
Free up that cap space over the longer term.
If they have to take bad cap back in 1 year of Tavares, ok whatever. He's only on a 1 year deal and he'd add to the middle 6 for a year. He's also really strong on the dot.
Given he's not worth 11 million, and he's getting slow. But it's 1 year. Maybe he just takes LTIR at that point not wanting to leave TOR.

that very well could be.
But at some point we can hope someone would figure out giving 45+ minutes of ice time to two offensive defensemen who struggle in their own zone is not helping the team win games.
Especially when they only had 1 line that could score consistently this year.
Because if you can't score you better be able to play better defense. It's easier to replace 1 guy than it is 9.
