Pointless for both teams. Montreal needs Guhle and Winnipeg doesn't. Winnipeg needs Perfetti and Montreal doesn't.

The Jets should've just drafted Guhle in the first place.

I find this a truly bizarre mis-take. Montreal can clearly benefit from having Perfetti as shown by the lineup above (and he also provides some disaster insurance in the not-unlikely event that the fragile Dach gets injured again). Winnipeg have 4 NHL-quality LhDs under team control for next season: Morrissey, Samberg, Stanley and Heinola. Guhle is clearly superior to the latter pair right now and even if he isn't superior to Samberg already, he has a far higher upside. Some Habs fans biased in favor of all of their players may object to exchanging Guhle for a top-line LW, but with the overpopulation on the left side, this trade makes sense for both teams. I've criticized many of the OP's ideas in the past, but my hat's off to a Montreal adherent who can make such a well-envisioned trade. Well done!

Whos the top line lw the habs are trading for here? All i see is a 22 year old who hasnt cracked 20 goals or 40 points?

Guhle is already putting up great underlying metrics playing top pair minutes they arent trading him to add a 5'10 middle 6 winger

The OP is a Montreal stalwart and that's his evaluation of Perfetti, as well as the justification for acquiring him. If a Montreal diehard wants Perfetti for #1 LW, that's good enough for me.

He states his favorite team are the jets in his bio.

No actual habs fan wants anything to do with that deal

Okay. So maybe Montreal can use Perfetti, the Jets still don't need Guhle. Especially with a glaring hole on RHD. Would he be nice to have? Sure. But the Jets have Morrissey as the 1 LHD and Guhle isn't passing him and have been grooming Samberg for 2 LHD. Maybe if Guhle was exceptional defensively, you could make a case, but he's not. He's a poor man's version of Morrissey.

The Jets only have so many assets they can spend, so if they are spending a major asset, it needs to be to fill a hole at top 4 RHD or 2C, not just add a backup to a play behind our 1D.

Guhle would play in the second pair, on either the left OR right side. If the Jets were a serious contender, Samberg would be left on the 3rd pair as that is all he can handle.

Any defenseman can play their off side, the Jets need an actual right shot defenseman.

They can't continue to do the same thing over and over and try forcing square pegs into round holes. They actually need to address a need of they are spending a big asset.
