So, Montreal pays pretty much the entire package to send Marner to Utah but only get a 1st out of the deal? Explain to me why we would do that. With the package we are sending to Utah we could get a much, much, much better return than that

TBH, if you just send Crouse to Montreal instead of Toronto then the deal balances out.

Edit actually, even then I am not sure it balances it but its at least closer

I’m in shock everyone thinks that’s an overpay for a 6th pick Montreal can get two forwards to add to what they’re building. My only argument would be what would be a comparable return that we’ve seen for a lottery pick. But I love your guys input. Habs also have too many d and can actually cash in value instead of turning this next year to revolving door like they did in net.
