Let’s see here:

1. Neither Gibson or Fowler agree to waive
2. We don’t want to pay Marner $13,000,000+ million like he is going to try and ask for
3. Verbeek will want no part in Marner after seeing him these playoffs

Why on earth do Anaheim want Marner? This team isn't going to buy on players until it shows it can make the playoffs...

And when we do, why would we acquire a player who's shown he can't perform in the playoffs?

I think Marner is a great player, but Marner can't run his own line, he needs room to operate so you have to stick him with someone dangerous enough to draw the defenders away from Marner.

He's elite, but he's an elite complimentary piece.

With regards to the above, there's way too many NTC/NMC conditions to consider feasible.
