Description

In an attempt to replace the 150 points lost from letting both Marner and Tavares walk and signing a top defenceman. The fact is it still would not be easy. And that's a if we can sign said players. We also need to rely on minten and Cowan definitely being able to produce and our roster starts to look more aged. The goaltending could potentially take a huge hit. Etc...

Why do fans have this silly belief that it's the teams that it's the teams decision to "LET" players walk?

He is a top 4 defender and his currently salary is actually 4 million. Chicago is eating salary. We will probably have to increase his salary to resign for his age etc... 5.2 is only 1.2 million more.

I never meant it as like the team let's them walk and that is not even the point. The point of the exercise is who can we sign to replace them and their salaries among the crop of free agents. Whether its the team that wanted to not resign or the player decided to leave or a combination of both does not even matter.
