Wings opening day lineup 24-25

Created by: Pderieu
Team: 2024-25 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 17, 2024
Published: Apr. 18, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Berggren will not resign due to lack of playing time. He will likely be shipped out for a late round pick.

Seider/Raymond sign matching 8 year contracts. Could be as high as 8m per season but I think Stevie will get them to sign for a tad less.

Wings reup Kane for 2 years at 4.5m after figuring out the seider/raymond contracts.

With a need for a 2nd line Winger with grit they bring back Larkins former pal Bert on a team friendly 3 year deal. Likely in the 4.5-5.5m range.

The bolster their Defense by signing Montour to a 3 year contract. He underperformed this year and will likely want a shorter term deal to get his real payday. I'm guessing he signs a 1-3 year contract somewhere. If he wants term then Detroit might be an option. Expect a figure in the 4-5m range.

Fischer is needed for 4th line depth, 1 year 1.25m

Ghost earned his contract for nearly saving our season at the end. 56 points this season and can man our power play until ASP is ready. I think he will either go for the big payday elsewhere or settle with Detroit for a more team friendly deal with term. 4-5m range as well.

After seeing Kane thrive in Detroit, Toews sees it as an opportunity to make a comeback on a team friendly deal. He mentioned only taking last year off, and if he does want an opportunity, why not Detroit? We have a glaring need for a 2/3C and with the success Kane has had, it has to be in his mind. If Toews can get back to even 70% of what he was he would be a massive steal.

Montour gets at least 3 mil more. 😬

    Buyout Holl.

Seider gets at least a mil more.

Cossa will be in Grand Rapids.

Can't survive an NHL season with just 6D.

Toews will never play NHL hockey again.

Walman will play on the top pair with Seider.

Ghost should be replaced with a D who actually plays D like Roy.

    The Bert ship has sailed.

    Need 13 forwards.

Montour has taken a massive step back in terms of production this year. 73 points in 2022 to 33 points in 2023. He either takes a 1 year prove it contract with someone else or if he wants term then he takes a 4.5-5.5m contract. Count on it

If term is what he's after then he's not going to get fair value. You can't lose 40 points of production and expect a 73 point worthy contract.

I would LOVE Montour, and think he is a perfect fit, however hes gonna get paid

I feel like hes getting at least 6.5, probably more....

but yeah, I'd go all-in on him

Some team probably takes Maata for free but it won't be the Hawks. But they'd probably give the Wings that late pick for Berggren. Toews either signs to play with Winnipeg or he retires.

Detroit is going to have to add a sweetener for Chicago to be interested.
