From an outside perspective winger. He's had very little success at center throughout his career.

The only consistent stretch of quality hockey I saw from him was as a winger on the Suzuki-Caufield line.

Centre he is a playmaker not a shooter. Also frost wouldnt be what they are looking for if they are giving up harris and a 1st.

Its decent, but imo, not his best asset. He is so good defensively, and is a great player maker

And you ain't getting Frost + 3rd for that package + cap dump. Unless it's your first, not WPG.

We don’t need Kovecevic since we have Desharnais. I would possibly do Holloway+ for Dach, but nobody else honestly.

He'll be an absolute beast if he can find his way as a center. No doubt in my mind he can play center but he needs reps more than anything right now. Needs to stop getting injured all the time. If he can't stay healthy he'll be a winger going forward. Its still early though. Just needs to stay healthy to prove it first.

Lol if the habs were trading their 1st they could get more than double what frost is worth

I know, just stating the fact that WPG 1st, Harris + cap dump ain't getting you Frost + 3rd. Dvorak is considered as a cap dump for them, they already have Laughton/Cates for 3C, and they have atleast 4 better LHD than Harris. Would need something better than WPG 1st + those pieces to give up on their only puck playing C.

On a contending team, he would be 1RW and Caufield would be sheltered on a 2nd line against easier opposition. Dach is just a better fit on a 1st line: a monster along the boards, good distributor and reliable defensively. Also Suzuki loves to play with another center, mainly to do permutation plays... and cheat on faceoffs.

In general the whole organisation just craves big top 9 wingers (only Slaf and... Anderson, no prospect).

But for now MTL doesnt have enough center depth (at least until the draft) making him the only decent 2C option. He did improve on faceoffs last season, so that can work until they find better.

Would only make sense to move Frost for an upgrade at C
