Oh, that’s right. Maybe a 3rd team could facilitate.

So...let me get this straight...we deal Holtz or Harris, 50% of Markstrom, and we have to have Josh Anderson too? This doesn't seem like the best use of assets nor cap. Markstrom shouldn't cost an early 1st at this point, let alone us having to take on a bad contract (even 50%...a guy making that on 4th line isn't good).

I think I would do the Habs deal. Holtz fits the timeline and prerogative of KH/JG of getting young players with upside who are NHL'ers already.

This dude is just like Fitzy clueless, there are better cheaper guys who are big, but keep in mind The OG poster only likes Speed. Dude made this team way worse but getting a bunch speed dudes YIKES.

Make it the later of the two picks going to CGY.

The 2025 pick will be the FLA pick as long as CGY is in the bottom 10 in the league.

As for the trade, I'd pass. The retention alone is worth a late 1st to the Flames. The Flames also don't need any goalie prospects.

So if you get rid of the retention and replace Daws with Seamus, you have a deal.

1st+Seamus casey for a 35 year old 6 million dollar goalie who's sub 0.900 over the last 2 years?

So Seamus for Markstrom (no picks, no money)?

Gross idea. Honestly looking at a lot of the cap situations, I wouldn't touch Markstrom unretained with a 10 foot pole.

That 2025-26 season with a 6 mill markstrom at age 36 that we'd be stuck with would be brutal.

If I had to make projections for my top goalies in that year, I'm not sure 36 year old Markstrom would be in my top 30.

I’m of the mindset that if San Jose ain’t getting a 1st for Granlund don’t move him. Versatile center, 55 points in 65 games while battling injury this season on a terrible team. He’s great for the room and sharks are very short on centers

I actually thought about doing a trade down with our pick for Pens pick if it were like #9 for #15

I’d imagine it just depends on who is left on the board and what their plan is with free agency. Also coutures health is a big part I think. If he isn’t going to be healthy then I think they hold on to Granlund. If he is good to go I could see them moving him and adding center depth in free agency.

I like the idea of Holtz to Montreal. Anderson has a skill set that is very ineffective with the way MSL wants the team to play. I think a change of scenery without the pressure of Montreals fan base and a 5.5 million dollar price tag would do him really well
