Why would anyone move assets for PLD. You trade him, you're doing it to dump him

PLD for kotkaniemi and a 2nd could work.

Both players have negative value

It would be wild if they traded PLD days before his trade protection kicked in. #TeamChaos

Still so much worse for Carolina than just buying out Kotkaniemi and doing something useful with the space. He's 23, it's a cheap ass buyout, just long.

That is also fair, but would be incredibly embarrassing after the offersheet, the strutting after the offersheet and the ridiculous contract

Tristan Jarry is the best bet to be the goalie with a GSAx of close to zero as any goaltender in the league. He’d be a target if you are dumping PLD. Shouldn’t be one for your first

Yeah, it'd be a bad look, but you gotta do what's best for the team. They aren't trading their way out or that deal imo.

I'd rather keep Necas over Dubois at a (hopefully) slightly lower price and then just buy out KK. No need to take on an even bigger anchor to get out from under the KK contract along with giving up a great player, especially when KK's buyout is so cheap.

Los Angeles isn't going to pay more than a second for a goaltender unless he's cheaper and better than Jarry, who's basically league average and EXPENSIVE.

His ability to be at a GSaX close to zero is flat out impressive. Statistically, I would have thought it would have been impossible to do it. He’s literally the walking definition of a player who saves the shots he’s supposed to and nothing more
