That trade is terrible for Toronto.

Ok so winning a cup is horrible?
That is a perfect trade, we get a true starting goalie with term.
A right hand defense we NEVER should have let walk!
And a good 3rd line center that has potential to move up the line up and young with term!
Plus we get good picks to improve our horrible draft pool !
So please explain in which way this is bad!

Trading Marner makes sense to me. Jaros is awesome but he doesn't make up for the loss of Marner in that Saros makes your goaltender better but your offence got way worse. I'd rather keep Sammy and Woll next year and trade Marner for a D

First of all, this doesn't guarantee winning a cup.

Schenn is aging and on a bad contract, Cody Glass is an overrated fourth liner, and Saros' value is lower than it's been in years, he's coming off a bad year. For a franchise player like Marner, we should be receiving multiple first round picks or prospects, none of which are included in this deal. This trade sucks.

There is a real big issue with trading Marner in the top corner of his box is NTC. The only way the leafs lose Marner is if he decides to walk.

If Treliving tells Marner the most he will re-sign him for is 10M you want to bet he asks for a trade!

Or he say's FU Trev and walks when his contract ends and the leafs get nothing for him. Willie has one season better season since him and Marner have come into the league and he is worth 11.5 to Marner 10 come on.
