Not impressed with how Raddysh is doing this year… no thanks. You can have Kulak though if you want him, but we are not going to pay to move him!

He would still be a cap charge of $850K, which is certainly more manageable, but not great.

Because the draft is defense heavy, and they don't need anymore defensemen. Frankly, they don't need many more prospects in general, they've been drafting them for the past 15 years and haven't made the playoffs. Hawks could easily add more picks, it all depends on where Buffalo finishes.

Then why would Buffalo take more picks if they don't need anymore D or Prospects. Sabres still need a bona-fide Top 4 RD and a good Power Forward (Lindstrom). If they did Trade the 1st it probably takes more than picks to get them to move it.

They don't need anymore prospects, but make a pick swap for more less quality picks to take more less quality prospects. What kinda logic is that?

Buy him out for a less than 600k way better than paying a 3rd to move him. $583,333 is the buyout cost

That hawks 2nd is 34th OA. Not a bad price to move back a few spots.

I’m not sure I would do any of this if I’m the Hawks, perhaps the Detroit trade.

Definitely not trading the TB 1st (21), Chicago 2nd (34) and a future 4th for Buffalo’s 1st (11). I really don’t see the difference in the value in potential draft candidates being worth that price. Last year the Hawks got Oliver Moore with TB’s later 1st and Adam Gajan with their own early 2nd round pick. Vancouver took Willander at 11.

I’m also not giving Arvidsson over $5m coming off an injury plagued season.

In an ideal world...what are you looking for then? Use that pick for Carter Yakemchuk and continue the build? Use it as a piece toward a veteran winger? OR use it as a piece to move up in the draft for Cayden...who isn't falling thay far down?

Sorry but I don't see the other teams making any of those 4 trades. Kind of indifferent to the Arvidsson and Copley signings as well. I'd hope the Hawks can fill out their roster openings better than this.

Trade it for a young rfa or pick the best available player and worry about trading pieces away later.

1- Sabres aren’t trading down
2- no team is trading down that far for just a 2nd

Wishful thinking on your part dude
Pretty unlikely though

To move back about 10 spots?
No thanks
I don’t think any team does that

Based on any pick chart you want to look at this is an overpay. And those charts are all just based off of former irl trades.
Based on the Sound of Hockey pick value chart: https://soundofhockey.com/2022/06/06/examining-the-value-of-nhl-draft-picks/

Tampa Pick 21 OA: 217.59
34 OA: 121.36
Late 4th: 6.18
Total Points 345.13

Buffalo Pick 11OA: 338.98.

So as you can see the trade above is basically dead even, if not favoring BUF a little. If you don't like it that's fine but to say no team does this just isn't correct.

The VALUE isn’t the problem here
Teams just don’t wanna trade back from pick 10 to pick20
Just doesn’t happen

What young RFAs do you think are available? The Hawks are in the same boat and would like to add young RFAs for picks, but who is even available and worth it? Kaliyev? Injury prone Zegras?

That'll have to wait until the off season when teams are looking to make trades.
