That package is almost the value of 4 1st round picks. It would be one of the largest in NHL history, unless a team is trading a top 10 player I don't know if they're getting much more

Isles are not going to trade Barzal. He is as untouchable as Dobson, Horvat and Sorokin. Isles would move on from Lee or Pageau if they are changing up their core

Dog, no.

With those FA deals and the trade, WE BECOME THE OLD S**THOLE!
THINK MAN THINK, IF MOJO IS ALMOST 35, MARTINEZ WILL BE 38, OLOFSSON IS 30, LARS IS 36.
WHY ON GODS GREEN EARTH WOULD WE DO THIS. WE NEED TO DITCH OLDER PLAYERS SO WE DON'T BECOME A RETIREMENT HOME

This is somewhat a concept of Barzal asking out, Dobson and Sorokin are most likely untouchable due to the scarcity of their contracts and positions but I'd argue Barzal isn't. He's going to be almost 28 when the Isles rebuild starts with 6 years left on his deal. If they're in a position where they can't compete due to the lack of talent + being in an extremely tough division (Carolina, New Jersey, The Rangers and one of the Jackets or Flyers will probably all be absolute juggernauts) he may ask out or at least suggest a change in scenery. He would bring back an absolute haul (as seen above) and would be a kickstart to a much needed rebuild

Eller, Martinez and Olfosson are all easily replaceable 1-2 year depth signings. The core of Boldy, Barzal, Wallstedt, Kaprizov, Faber, Yurov and Heidt would all still be 28 and under. + The 241st round selection, this would set the team up for not only present success but future success as well.

THe problem is we are old in the first place. Guys like (and this really hurts to say) Spurgeon, Foligno, Gaudreau, MoJo and even Zuccy need to go SOON.

Mojo and Zuccy are only signed for one year here, Foligno can be bought out or dumped pretty easily (as well as Guadreau). Spurgeon is the only one who is somewhat an issue but even then he's still a great top 4 piece and would be present regardless of the moves made. The core is still very very young and draft capital is still kept

He loves Long Island and Isles aren’t going to rebuild any time soon. This is just as much of a hypothetical as saying Kaprizov wanting out of MIN because they haven’t won and it’s not a desirable city to live in. We can do if and buts with anybody in the league lol

And in terms of value I think the isles could get higher end talent anyways. If Isles were to even consider trading Barzal they are going to want an elite prospect and high end pick. Think like Byfield for example. I don’t think Rossi is near that

We have Zuccy until 25-26, the thing is just straight up wrong.
