The first thing that must happen is getting rid of Lou. It's been long overdue and at this point, Ledecky has to force him to call it quits. Next, we have to shape the team around Roy's image, since I truly believe he's a quality coach and he'll be able to show it once he gets the players who fit his system. That starts with speed and building and selling around the edges. Lee has to get moved and with a new gm with no ties to the team I think it can happen. I'd be fine with a buyout, but moving him at 3 mil retained, I think he'll be a positive asset that a contending team could go for. That also applies to Pageau, but it'd be ideal not to retain him and either include him in a player swap or for minimal value.

Under Roy, I think almost everybody will improve with an offseason to get used to the system and get healthy. Pelech, Pulock, and Mayfield have all been banged and their play must improve. Plus, there is no way Sorokin could have a year worse than right now, and he will bounce back just like Shesterkin and Vasy did after they struggled for a year recently.

Now for the adds, I think Duclair is a must get based on his style of play and history with Roy. Plus compared to some other players he’d be a cheaper mid-level option. I like Debrusk and think when put on a top line he could go to a new level, but I wouldn’t pay him more than this, plus there are other options. These moves also give us room to make a move at the TDL with more flexibility than we’ve had before. Lastly, at the draft if we could end up at 10 or higher, we should be picking best player available whether that’s Zeev or anybody who falls.
