I like it, but Shaw isn't a 2C and Hossa has to go on LTIR. Other then that, I like it.

Leaves a HUGE hole at center, not much room to work with cap either. Pass

There's no room to work on the cap because I didn't move Hossa anywhere. The whole point of this trade was to free up some money and then Hawks can use the savings from Hossa and the 2nd round pick to help acquire the asset they actually need. Shaw helps balance the lower lines and can fill-in at 2nd line when needed as he has proven he can do in Chicago before.

I love this trade for the Hawks, but I don't know if MTL would do this
