Jbd despite limited minutes is tied for team lead in blocked shots and has good advanced stats. His play has actually been good. It would take a good player of ours to get him. This move is a risk as yes he was waived earlier in the year but has actually played good in the nhl. He is still young and lots of room to grow and develop. But I do admit this trade could blow up as this trade shows a want for him to eventually play more minutes and if he can't improve with more minutes then it would blow up in our face. Any trade we do will be a risk/reward scenario and I can see he upside in this trade. Robertson at the moment looks destined as a top 9 winger with defensive problems. (Yes he can improve and develop more). JBD (shown well in very limited minutes which shows he deserves a chance for more minutes, again no guarantee more minutes helps)

Robertson, despite limited minutes, incredibly limited power play time and not great linemates is on pace for 20+ goals and has good advanced stats. If robertson has defensive problems then JBD has offensive problems.

No argument there. It is a proposed trade to get a huge hole fixed which takes a risk to do. I love Robertson, and personally would give a lot less for JBD. It always takes both teams to agree on value. And your points are very valid as Robertson I do admit has shown to have potential to develop into a true 9 forward and at best a top 6 winger still.

1. OTT-TOR trade doesn't make sense for TOR.
2. I love Nick Jensen but I heard reports WSH is keeping him.

There is some sense when you look at JBDs stats in limited minutes. That being said, such a trade is a huge risk. And could backfire hugely for us I do admit as I did earlier.
As for Jensen, yea, it is hard to to get a player like him and a first is hight but the only way to even make the caps remotely interested is a 1st.
