Trades
TOR
  1. Borgen, William
  2. Kartye, Tye
Additional Details:
timmins replaces shultz.

Have the media say what you want but when timmins has been healthy he has been shultz-esk and is a cheaper replacement to log bottom end minutes and play PP2.

kartye isnt going to produce like robertson. but the the leafs need someone with spit and a bit more grit. id be curious if Tanev would be a suitable replacement instead

Im a leafs fan (for context) but I dont think thats a good enough package for what Seatle is giving up.
I used to be a big Robertson fan, but the more I watch him the more he seems lost out there. He seems to always be chasing the play just looking to use his only big asset (his shot).
He doesnt skate well, his hockey IQ seems low for a player whos skills are better suited for top 6 role. Maybe he becomes a PP specialist where he can just be a trigger man?
I really hope Im wrong about him though. Is he a god fit for the Kraken?
Maybe Minten is a better chip to play and we can expand on the return? IDK
trade deadline is exciting though.
what do you think about the Bouch trade? (I think we overpaid but I do like him at 6th or 7th spot, just not for a 3rd rounder)

Really?? Borgen has wayyyy more value than both of these guys combined. Come on. Borgen is legit. Robertson looks scared to be on the ice and Timmins is a 7th D on a decent team.

disagree with Timmins, but Robertson is bum with a great shot. he can be a .5 ppg in the regular season but i anticipate he will be diappear in the playoffs.

not sure on borgdens value, would love to hear your opinion on my newest post

And that's the exact reason why Seattle doesn't make this trade. Toronto is going to have to give up better players/picks to get him as his worth to Seattle is greater than what Toronto is giving up. Multiple pieces of lesser value do not equate out to being the same.

I also think Toronto has a better chance of getting Tanev than Kartye but that's only my opinion.

I have made a few Borgen trades in here. I think we will have to overpay because Seattle doesn’t need to move him this year as he has another year left on his deal. I’d say it takes Lily, Robertson and a 3rd and maybe more

Yes of Robertson and Timmins for sure. But I would put Lily (who can fill Borgens role), Robertson to help with secondary scoring and a 3rd?

He reminds me of a younger Tanev with a better shot and hands but needs to work on his skating. He'll never be a top six forward but he's got an exciting future in the league.
