Truthfully, I bet this was their plan at the start of the season. Sign a bunch of vets for cheap, watch them play well in front of a good defense and great goaltending, then sell high, recoup some picks. Can't do that now, even with this "slump", you gotta run it back and know that you can be even better next year.

Appropriate trades all around but I doubt Gryzelck gets you that much of a return. Pick OR a prospect for him.

Col can’t take the cap hit and I think the FO has plans for Malinski because he has been super solid this year, unfortunately for him he is the only waiver exempt dman this year.

van Riemsdyk is playing at near-60 pts pace. His experience/pedigree and his $1M cap hit would definitely interest contenders. Monahan just got a 1st so good management would likely be able to get at least a late 2nd.
