Dallas LTIR in Use

Created by: CallMeChristie

Initial Creation Date: Feb. 14, 2024
Published: Feb. 14, 2024

Season Remaining: 31%
Projected Cap Hit Prior To Days Remaining Tooltip : $83,079,157
Description
TL:DR - If players go to LTIR using Prorated Cap hit from Feb 18th

This is with the idea of Dadonov heading to LTIR with broken bones in lower body. Plus (i wish no harm on any player) if Suter gets injured at his age that may lead to LTIR as well. So this is in a world where both Suter and Dadonov head to LTIR
Trades
1.
DAL
  1. Tanev, Christopher ($2,250,000 retained)
Additional Details:
The reported price for Tanev is a 2nd and a prospect. Grushnikov isnt a high prospect so the idea of an added 2nd pick to sweeten the pot.
CGY
  1. Grushnikov, Artem
  2. 2025 3rd round pick (DAL)
  3. 2026 2nd round pick (DAL)
2.
DAL
  1. Guentzel, Jake ($3,000,000 retained)
Additional Details:
The reported statement is that Dubas may be looking at the Giroux deal from FLA and PHI as a template for the Guentzel deal, so a first and a higher end prospect. Bichsel is a higher end Defense prospect with not a lot of offensive upset but great puck moving two-way D with more shut down capabilities with his huge size. Looking at PIT's prospects they have no defensive prospects and Brayden Yager as there only real forward prospect so Bichsel would seem to fit that slot nicely. The added 4th to sweet the pot.
PIT
  1. Bichsel, Lian
  2. 2024 1st round pick (DAL)
  3. 2026 4th round pick (DAL)

Pens do have Pickering. Im not saying no, but Id have a feeling they would want a F prospect when moving Jake

Replace Bischel with Borque and move the 4th to a 3rd then we’re good.

Would Dallas do this trade if the prospect coming back were Stankoven?

I wouldn't trade any major assets for Guentzel. The Stars forward depth is their strength.

And I sure as hell wouldn't move Bourque, Stankoven, or Bichsel for him.
