Doesn't solve the 2C issue but does at least give the Avs a get out. Have to think at this point they'd accept.

I'm not really sure why Blues would pay for Erik Johnson. I know the premise is probably to dump Vrana's cap. But the Blues aren't going to be all out buyers this year and most likely wont need the cap.

Blues don't have a reason to add Johnson

agreed, genuinely feel like anyone with a decent amount of understanding of the trade could’ve saw the avs johansen experiment going how it has. still never really understood that move but was more of a low risk-mid reward, maybe potential high reward move that just went nowhere.

Overkill on the Colorado trade. The Sabres are doing Colorado a favor they don't need to add Krebs. Insane overkill on the Boston trade. I don't know who your mis-valueing but Rosen is more valuable that both Boston players 3x over

Without Krebs the Avs don't do it.

I should actually have said 'probably' don't do it. As it stands they can use Krebs as a stand in at 2C and see what he's got (he's at least young, and can pass a puck and play at pace). Olofsson is just cap saving. Sabres get the face off winning guy they want and absorb a bit of cap. Probably works out well for both teams if RyJo is a better fit in Buffalo. Maybe the Avs up the pick slightly to the 2nd in '26. I'd do that if that was what it took.
