Description
Here is what I would do and then the lines I would try.

Overall, the offense gets worse without Robertson, but the defense would be a massive improvement and could help set them up for the foreseeable future.

Grabbing Maroon I think just gives them an extra physical presence for the playoffs this year. That move isn't really necessary though.

With all the parity in the league this year, I think every team that makes the playoffs could probably have the chance to win it all. With that in mind, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me for the team to make a big trade for someone on an expiring deal.

In my opinion, the team needs better defense. The offense will always have the ability to score 5+ any night because of the core 4. Nothing you could do at this deadline would give you a big upgrade in terms of depth scoring.
I realize I am removing depth scoring by trading away Robertson, but it felt necessary to get Chychrun. Robertson just doesn't feel like he has a solid place on this team, but could thrive somewhere else. (Also, I have no clue how accurate this trade value is. I saw someone else doing the same trade with Holmberg and I just did Robertson instead.)

I have no clue if the 3rd line would work, but I think it would be interesting to see if it would. If it does, then you have all of the sudden been able to create some depth scoring. If not, keep trying things until something sticks. Also, split the PP unit up. I am also just assuming the Leafs will always have someone injured at some point meaning that all 24 players shown would be on the team come playoff time.

Overall, do I think this team wins the cup? No. But do I think anything they could do this TDL would make me believe they will win the cup? No.

Tell me how wrong I am.

Team doesn't matter. Prefer trading him to someone for something than them cutting someone that would get claimed.

Team doesn't matter. He has had a few good games here. If Woll comes back and is playing like the starter like I assume he will, then get this cap hit away from the team as Sammy wouldn't start in the playoffs anyway.

Assuming he is available for trade, what do you think would? As mentioned above, I saw someone offer less than that in their scenario for Chychrun. I also believe that if he gets traded, I don't think it would be for as much as people thinks he will get since the Sens aren't really competing this year and my guess is that he is more likely to not stay in Ottawa than stay.
