Sens have no business touching the Kampf deal. He's a one dimensional defensive forward, and he hasn't been good defensively this year. Timmins is a RHD with a pulse, so he's probably better than Hamonic, but I don't think he has much value as an asset.

The core of the deal, Minten and a 1st, isn't a terrible starting point for negotiations on paper, but it really doesn't make sense for what Ottawa needs. Ottawa is set down the middle long term, Minten just isn't a needle mover for them imo.

For me, Chychrun should be a total nonstarter, but if Ottawa did move him, it's to address the NHL roster's lack of RHD depth beyond Zub.

Still think you just don't trade him full stop. But yeah, you extra don't trade him in division and you extra don't trade him to Toronto or Montreal
