As much as I'd love to have Colin Miller, I think you're selling van Riemsdyk extremely short. He's worth much more than this.

JVR has no value to VGK. If he's so valuable, sell him directly to the playoff team wanting a rental and then use your riches to give VGK something of interest.

Vanek is available as a UFA, JVR isn't that much more valuable offensively and is just as bad defensively? Plus Vanek can be signed for Game 1 and carry a lower cap hit than JVR will at the deadline.
