Couple other details
- Poehling signs a 2 yr extension at 1.75-2 mil
- Tippet signs a 4 yr extension at 4.5 mil

Lightning Fans I just put a first in for a placeholder, what do you deem ample for the two players? A second - 3rd - some mid prospect would also suffice in that ballpark imo.

The Winnipeg trade is comprised like this:
Schimdt - Zihlkin - 4th for 6 mil in cap space
1st for walker/seeler

Oilers trade is based on the mindset they are all in, and broberg will not be apart of the run. I got the second for Frost now being valued for 1 mil, which can be great value with his playmaking ability.
Trades
1.
PHI
  1. 2026 1st round pick (TBL)
Additional Details:
To me, two teams that could trade for both (depending very much on playoff position) is winnipeg and tampa. If tampa finds itself third in the division or greater, I can see them making this move. Likely one last hoorah with stamkos, especially given how the contract negotiations have gone. But of the two, this is the least likely.
TBL
    Walker 50% retained and Seeler
    2.
    PHI
    1. Schmidt, Nate
    2. Zhilkin, Danil
    3. 2024 1st round pick (WPG)
    4. 2024 4th round pick (WPG)
    Additional Details:
This seems like the probable trade. Schimdt has been less than desired at his near 6 mil cap hit, but given the flyers status of a rebuilder, it wouldn't be the end of the world since he's on the books for another year. This would also given winnipeg a whopping 6 mil to work with this coming offseason. Schmidt in my eyes would take over a staal like role in the 24-25 season.
    WPG
    1. Seeler, Nick
    2. Walker, Sean ($1,325,000 retained)
    3.
    PHI
    1. 2024 6th round pick (FLA)
    FLA
    1. Staal, Marc
    Additional Details:
Familiar with the system, good depth option.
    4.
    PHI
    1. Broberg, Philip
    2. 2024 2nd round pick (EDM)
    EDM
    1. Frost, Morgan ($1,050,000 retained)
    2. 2025 5th round pick (CAR)
    Additional Details:
I am unsure of the value, but I believe frost would slot in perfectly on the 3C with edmonton, and would match the high flying offensive style they have in contrast to philly. Broberg is thrown in because both players are in less than desirable situations, and the pick is due to the retention over a two year period.

No from Winnipeg. They have no need or use for either Flyer at that cost.

Winnipeg has no need to move Schmidt and nothing coming from Philly is worth giving up a 1st for

Fair, if dropping the 1st to a second and fifth make a difference to you? I just view Schmidt as a negative asset and value cap space for obvious reasons. Correct me if I am wrong on Schmidt.

    Jets Decline
We have zero need for either of those 2 players and we’re not trading a 1st for any deal that doesn’t return a player of need..2C
This trade is just bad for WPG

Schmidt's contract does make him a negative asset, but he's playing well and his cap hit doesn't hurt the Jets, so there is no reason to move him unless it is for an upgrade, which neither Flyer is.

Disagree that Schmidt is a negative asset for the time being. WPG is not up against the cap and can even add at the TDL without moving Schmidt. As far as his play goes, he's been better as of late and I would honestly rather rely on him in the playoffs than either of our younger guys (Heinola/Chisholm).

Should definitely move him come offseason tho.

I’d move him in a Lindholm deal, for cap space, but I also don’t see the reason to wait til the TDL to make trades… I’d deal for Lindholm now

More cap space at TDL. It would allow WPG to deal only futures for Lindholm and keep the core players intact (i.e. won't have to move Schmidt for cap space).

Schmidt is a core player, and doing the deal earlier gives the team more time to adjust to the change and build chemistry
