Detroit isn't retaining on Copp for 3 years.

They're still paying the Abdelkader buyout for 2 more years.

Why buyout Petry? He can be 7/8D and then retire.

Something needs to be done about this D core next season. It's just worse than this year if all we do is lose Ghost for Edvinsson. I'm super high on Ed but Ghost is on pace to score 60 this year. Even if he only hits 50, that would be the ceiling for Ed as a rookie.
