Both sides are gonna say they are getting destroyed in value

Anaheim has Luneau who is gonna be a great 2RD, they have Gudas to ease him in. Drysdale cannot stay healthy so they use his value to ship him off for a top 10 RD

Calgary gets a young RD who has potential to be better than Andersson, plus a top 14 pick and 2nd pick to kickstart the rebuild. Assuming they blow it all up, you are gonna want Andersson gone. He does not have the term to keep around through his prime for once the team begins to contend.

Andersson is a perfect fit except for the fact that he is a few years too old to really be a part of the young core. Because of that, I would rather take one of the very good RHD around 10th (more likely where we finish) and trust that one of the them (Drysdale or the pick) works out.

And why are you signing a huge money LW when RW is the need?

Flames would need to seriously consider that. Andersson is awesome and I think he should be the next captain of the team when Backlund's contract expires but to get a player that could replace Andersson long term while picking up a mid first round pick would be very close to forcing Conroy's hand. Really interesting thought, I think Ducks fans would stick with what they have though.

given up on Drysdale? is it because he is injured often or does he just suck and is a bust?

100% only way I look to move him is if we is the main piece in a big RWer trade honestly and that’s only because we have so many great prospects in the system

You’ll be okay sweetheart

All he did was ask if ‘we’ have given up on JD and never said anything about your crappy ideas

Sorry you woke up feeling like a victim

Let's be realistic here . . . right now, after a pretty good start, we're seven spots from the bottom of the barrel with Edmonton and Minnesota only one game behind, and both with games in hand. Even if we improve over the course of the season (and there's always the strong possibility that the expected selling at the trade deadline when it's clear we won't make the playoffs will cause a little fall-off), about the BEST we can anticipate is a pick at #9 or the esteemed Gibby's #10. That's more than what a couple of seasons of Rasmus Andersson is worth. The bottom line is that this trade is basically a bet on a parlay of neither Drysdale nor our 2024 first-round draft pick panning out. I wouldn't be willing to take that risk.
