No all around. The defense has issues because Burns is sick and orlov is getting used to the system. We would make it worse by adding another new body to the mix to play with orlov

The problem is that TDA is a defensive liability and we need somebody who can run PP1 who is not Brent Burns or TDA. I mean Hanifin doesn't necessarily need to play with Orlov... you can have Orlov-Skjei and Hanifin-Pesce. Orlov has played very well when paired with Skjei

Or we just dump TDA all around and let skjei run the power play. Adding Hanifin is a waste of assets

Skjei wasn't great running the PP last year and we need a competent PP to be able to go far

Haven’t fixed either issue.

The uncomfortable reality is the guy who should be sitting is the defender who has the Highest AAV. I have zero issue with TDA, if you thought you were getting a defenseman you got the wrong guy. Orlov has been a train wreck with the puck and as bad defensively as TDA. Orlov was signed because the Canes had a deal in place with Dallas for Pesce and that fell through. Already has an agreement with Philly for TDA so they made good on that.

The PP is fixed when they get a shooter who’s a threat from the middle of the ice. The right flames player to attack would be Lindholm.

I mean where would put Lindholm in the lineup... I don't see him taking the 2C spot from KK and he for sure isn't going to take the 1C from Aho. I mean maybe you put him with Aho and have it be Lindholm-Aho-Jarvis. I suppose that you can put Orlov has been a trainwreck as a defenseman but I think that the real problem is that he is anchored to TDA who absolutely awful... he's usually been pretty good when he's been paired up with Chatfield but that would leave that 1PP QB spot open and I don't think Burns is playing well enough to effectively qb a 1PP unit and Skjei hasn't been a very good PP QB

It’s interesting that defensive partners of Chatfield continuously look much better isn’t it? Pegging Orlov defensive and puck management issues to TDA doesn’t get very far to me. Go take a look at Phillys 3rd goal last night and tell me it was TDAs fault. Defenders take time to learn the man to man heavy pinching pressure the Canes play. I give Orlov a pass on the defensive play, but no excuse for puck management FU’s.

Regarding your comments about Lindholm, it’s only a limit to
The terminology and imagination. With Center depth of Aho, Lindholm, and KK, you can build 3 good scoring lines and spread out the mins. You don’t need to number them 1-3.

That third goal was a bad defensive breakdown that shouldn't be happening and I get that it takes a long time to learn the Canes system. Orlov has had some problems with puck management but I think that will eventually get itself worked out. I think that a center depth of Aho, Lindholm, and KK would be great but I'm just concerned that there might not be enough ice time for all of them. Chatfield is also the kind of defenseman that thrives in the RBA system... stay at home, fast, and is responsible defensively
