The Leafs are a rebuild away from contending. The mentality never changes. The issues are never resolved. The team still sucks.

This era, which should have been one of the brightest in Leafs history, has been completely wasted. So disappointed with these guys, there's no reason for them to not be monsters out there.

I didn't watch the 1rst or 2nd period... But the 3rd was abysmal for all not named Auston Matthews, no effort from guys like Marner and Nylander...

I know you've brought up Brendan Dillon before, I haven't seen enough of him recently to know if he still has it in other areas of his game, but f*ck could the Leafs ever use him in-front of their own net. At least at one point he was what what everyone tried to convince the hockey world Chiarot was, and more. If the rest of his game hasn't lost a step, he'd be well worth a phone call to the Jets if they're out of it.

The lack of depth production from the Leafs is honestly really worrying. I'm almost positive Domi and Bertuzzi will click eventually, but our bottom 6 is still cheeks. Defensive structure is a nightmare. This team could be so good, but they aren't. This genuinely reminds me a lot of the start of the season when Babcock got fired. The only issue is that Keefe isn't going to get fired. We are in for a long season barring a HUGE miracle, because even if our forward group steps up, we still aren't good enough defensively

He'll get fired if it comes to it. The extension didn't mean squat other than to stop it from being a talking point and giving Tre an extra bullet.

I think it'll come for Bertuzzi, just need to find the right mix and have some stars align. Domi I'm not sold on at all. And if he's not providing depth scoring he brings NOTHING to the table. Like legitimate negative on ice value for 3million bucks.
