I don't think they are. Chabot is imperfect, but he's 3 years younger, a LHD they need, and an unreal driver of offense.

I think Chabot and Tanev would be an awful pairing

He's also a defensive black hole

I'd take that as a Flames fan only because we have nothing past this season on the left side but, word is Hanifin and his agent have started talking to the Flames about a possible extention, if he signs, I'd keep Weegar

Well yeah I’m shocked you think ur own player is better lol. Everyone overrated their own players, Weegar is the better of the two for sure this would never be done 1 for 1

Anyways Flames block Ottawa's number here. Weegar is a non starter, this is almost at the level of asking Colorado to trade Toews for Chabot

Chabot moves to the Right side full-time for the Sens now. That helps that issue some,

I don't see Calgary making this trade unless they see some current players re-signing soon.

Flames shouldn't look to move Weegar's contract at all, unless they retool/rebuild

Also doubt Ottawa wants to move Chabot at all.

One of the best offense driver in the league and one of the best 2-way D-men... It would have to fit each team's need perfectly
