If you aren't going to just acquire a pick for Kubalik then you have to take a prospect or player that will cost you nothing in cap if they're in the AHL. Robinson would still cost us roughly 700K in cap which means we can't carry a 13th fwd. He's not worth it. Take a b prospect or a 4th rounder instead and have Smejkal in the line up (save MacEwen for nights you need extra physicality).

Why don't you just waive Kubalik instead? Many teams would take him and some of the teams who can't would just do some twists with burying a player in the AHL or something
