I know it’s only a 5th, and for that reason I don’t mind it, but Canucks GMs sure love trading away future picks rather than trade for them

Makes sense. Glad we picked Gregor over him. I've loved Laffery for quite some time, he just didn't fit in in Toronto. Wish him the best, should be decent under Tocchet.

Pumped for Minten season

Real sad to see him go, but we needed to move some cap. Hope Gregor can make it now.

That's about what I'd pay for Sam Lafferty.

Fair deal.

Why? How is he any better now or have more upside than Studnicka- whom they had to put on waivers? I know the 5th isnt much...but this is just another body they didnt need. Studnicka and Aman have both looked good in preseason, I dont see how the addition of Lafferty is going to help the Nucks at all. Its one thing if they have a bunch of injuries....but outside of Mikheyev unknown status... theyre fine. They already sent down Dries...how is Lafferty any better? Canucks management of assets continues to be horrible.

Feel like Toronto can easily replace him with a league minimum guy. They got value back as well. W for Toronto

Who loses their spot? Does this mean Podkolzin or Hoglander get cut?

It's a good trade for the acquiring team as he's a fairly paid player who is physical, good in the dot and can play all three forward positions. But Vancouver seems a truly odd location

He was good in the dot and physical. The Leafs will not replace him with the same quality. In the end it isn't a big deal as he played in the bottom of the lineup, but it was a loss simply as the gm f***Ed up the cap.

Toronto wins the trade. Because if his value is only a 5th round pick, then he's not doing very much for Vancouver.

Not really sure why there are so many vancouver votes. They just paid a 5th for a cap dump that was going on waivers lol. At best this is fair value for them

Now hold on, Gregor hasn't been signed yet. This was to clear up space just because they absolutely needed to

How much do you want to bet that Gregor gets signed? With Laffertys money gone, the lineup should look something like:

Bertuzzi - Matthews - Marner
Domi - Tavares - Nylander
Knies - Minten - Jarnkrok
Gregor - Kampf - Reaves
McMann

Rielly - Brodie
McCabe - Klingberg
Giordano - Liljegren

Samsonov
Woll

A 5th Rd pick for trading a guy who the Leafs GM would have been forced to place on waivers and lose for nothing.

This is a win for the Leafs, all those votes no need to give their head a shake.
