There is no incentive for Anaheim to retain on Gibson and swap Jones out for an older 4th liner.

Not to mention Gibson has very publicly spurned Toronto's attempts to acquire him informing the media he wouldn't waive for Toronto.

John Gibson is an inch away from being bought out. All the goalie experts say he is a washed up bum. You will have to add a first-round pick to trade him in the summer with 25 per cent retention.

Marcel Marcel is the cornerstone of the Hawks rebuild, doubt they trade him. But for real Hawks decline.

Can’t see the Hawks trading anything for more depth players, they already have nine guys competing for the bottom six forward positions.

If the Leafs want the Hawks to assist them with their cap situation, they will have to pay for the help.

Four years of John Gibson, whatever you think of him, isn't worth one season of Samsonov and four seasons of $960,000 retention. I think that the Anaheim brain trust is perfectly happy to let him play out his contract here.

"All the goalie experts" in you're head maybe? He's far from washed bud, and no where near buyout territory, and if he WAS, you wouldn't be trading for him, now would ya?

Go home you hoser, you've had too much to drink and are spewing nonsense.

Three M NTCs that can't worked out. Leafs don't improve at all with the Ducks trade. More fantasy with Flames Dmen

Always amazes me when someone still wants to trade for gibson. He's had 4 consecutive underwhelming seasons. He should be getting the Martin Jones treatment at this point

Cool story bro, unfortunately there is no stat, counting or advanced, that backs you up on that statement. And again, you're the one who traded for him in this ACGM, so you're talking out of both sides of your ass here.

But what you HAVE done is show us you're one of those extra special Leafs fans that makes this website so much fun.

So kindly piss off.
