Nothing like swapping out Seth Jones 1.0 for Seth Jones 2.0. IF the Hawks want to be in the Nylander sweepstakes...they should be in a wait and see mode. Don't give up assets of any meaningful value. $9.5 is too much for him anyway...sign him as a UFA.

Doubt if Jones waives his NMC. But more silly fascination basing a trade on an extension.

Typically when these trades are made players resign afterwards, given the fact they have to accept a trade there in the first place. Doubt Jones waives to leave a basement team for a cup contender though right...

Yeah exactly. When the borders were closed due to Covid and this was a legitimate concern

Literally the same reply you'd have if I suggested Nylander for Toews and Makar probably.

Nothing unfortunate about a man not wanting to play in a country that taxes you to death.

Honestly I think both of these deals are awful for the Hawks.

After watching Brodie in the playoffs I think his skill set is diminishing quickly, to pay his ticket this year and extend him for three more would be a huge mistake. Timmins is a waiver wire pickup level player. That means the Hawks are getting Nylander for Jones, who is still a quality # 2, albeit overpaid by about $2m, a retained on Murphy; which at that rate is worth a 1st or high 2nd; and Raddysh a 20 goal scorer on one of the best current contracts in the league who with a repeat performance this year could also be worth a late 1st or early 2nd at the TDL.

Lafferty would just go into the mix with the other 9 guys competing for the bottom six forward positions. To lose a draft pick exchange to acquire him would be horrendous asset management. If the Leafs want to send him to Chicago for FC then perhaps since he was a good fit in the past.

Of course they don't, but do the Leafs trade Nylander for 2 D? What a dilemma you've found yourself in!

You don't have any credibility, do some research on player's values.

Incredible how dense you are. So, the Leafs wouldn't make that trade? Obviously an exaggeration, I'm creating an example that is clearly over your head...

No we don’t want Jones and Murphy easy let it be

Oh no! How am I supposed to sleep tonight knowing some anonymous troll posting Leaf’s fan thinks I have no credibility? 😂

Hope the next 56 years works out better for your team then the last 56, maybe you all won’t be so uptight. Get out and enjoy some sunshine today, it’s good for your mental health.

Hawks decline both of those trades. Doubt the Hawks give up anything to acquire Lafferty - there's no spot in the bottom 6 for him without making another move. The other deal is awful for the Hawks. They give up the entire right side of their D plus Raddysh for Nylander? Brodie to Chicago is a one year move if it happens at all. Hawks aren't extending what will be a 34 y.o. D man for 3 years. Timmins is exactly the type of D man the Hawks don't want. An offensive minded guy who struggles in his own end. Plus his injury history is a red flag. He's probably available on waivers at the end of training camp anyway. As stated by others, if the Hawks want Nylander, they'll wait until next summer and go after him as a UFA.

Yep, like ROR, Accarilli, Schenn, did with the Leafs. Silly fascination about players resigning.

Please tell me when, a Cup contending team has ever asked star players to negotiate with another team, so they can traded, one full season away from their contract expires.,?
Can't think of one.
You're really bad at this aren't you?
Are M NTC Nylander and Brodie obligated to be traded to the Hawks? Maybe, maybe not. I'm sure Brodie would have an team with cap on his no trade list.
