Calle Jarnkrok and Matt Dumba

Created by: OldNYIfan
Team: 2023-24 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 23, 2023
Published: Jul. 26, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Jarnkrok is clearly a better two-way player than anyone we have on the right side except Troy Terry. I'd pay as much as a third and a fourth for him; I'm assuming that two middling draft picks will be sufficient to get him from the Maple Leafs inasmuch as trading him instantly solves all of Toronto's cap problems. But the cost is unimportant in the general scheme of this ACGM.

I'm a fan of adding Dumba. Given our lack of depth on the right side, it's hard to see how that could hurt.

Some forward prospects I see on the horizon who might get auditions this season are shown on the (non-existent) Taxi Squad. (I'd be surprised if any of our defense prospects are ready for that.)

Decently plausible if this is what it comes to to get under the cap

Just not sure Jarnkrot is the guy for the top 6, and two 4ths for a 4th line RW seems expensive

Nice utility forward, but theres other better options.

With the excess picks, maybe a team like PHI who's massively overloaded at RW (Deslauriers, Atkinson, Allison, Bobby Brink, Tyson Foerster, Koneckny, Hathaway), and have some vet dmen that are an upgrade on Hagg (Seeler, Staal, Walker) who might bridge the gap. Probably get Seeler and one of Allison or Deslauriers for those 2 4ths or a 3rd and 4th.

I think I would rather bring Des and and add Seeler to the deal for 2 4ths than Jarnkrok!

If you wait until next year, you can have Manson back for cheap. It would be a win for everyone.

That wouldn't stop me from signing Dumba, but in case he goes somewhere else.

Pretty reasonable for both teams, and I've always liked Jarnkrot, and hes a solid two way, 3rd liner but in the above, he's probably your 4th line RW (cant see Silverberg, Terry, or Jones below him) so 2 4ths seem a bit much.

As far as Dumba, I think hes a good steady stay at home 2RD, but with a solid vet in Fowler, that could be a good pairing, but you might be burying the youth a bit but singing both dumba AND gudas.

good thing about jarnkrok for an up and coming rebuilder is he can hang on any line 1 through 4 on LW or RW, did so in Toronto. That would push the younger guys to be on their game. Also played some games at 3C when called upon. Good for 15-20 goals, 35-40 points, defensively sound and PK, played 2nd unit PP here as well. If we have to move him I really like the Anaheim fit
