TBL opening day wout Killorn

Created by: JTBF81
Team: 2023-24 Tampa Bay Lightning
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 30, 2023
Published: Jun. 30, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Tampa moves ahead without Killorn in this scenario, giving Barre-Boulet a real chance in the top 6. If not ABB, likely one of Goncalves, Nemela or Fortier could be slotted in at 3LW or 3RW, and Bjugstad moves up to 2RW.

I think he makes the team but will be on the 4th, at least one player from syracuse is going to be on the team but likely more and with koepke and fortier having bad seasons last year I think its going to either be ABB or goncalves or both. Its notable that balcers has also not been signed yet so he might be an option.

ABB has had his chances, give goncalves a spot on the 4th line which should be the only open spot after FA

Id give them both a spot, ABB in his most recent stint put up 5 in 14 and was averaging 11:20 a night, honestly not bad. I mean we gave verheghe 52 games before calling him a bust and ABB has only played 32 games total with his biggest stint only being 15 games.

You have a crystal ball or something? If not, his numbers last year in Syracuse indicate otherwise. Nit to mention the reports from the coaching staff up there on him and that he will have his best chance e to maximize his talents in a scoring role, make it so that he's at the top of the list of Crunch F to get promoted entering camp.

The usual, ABB has had his chance narrative. After 32 total NHL games across 4 seasons, yep, he's done, no further playing time or analysis needed...

ABB needs to be on a scoring line imo. Putting him on the 4th line sets him up to fail. If he's on the 2nd or maybe 3rd line, he'll have a chance to succeed(if he's given more than a handful of games).

this is true but he has been on a scoring line before in his first season, didnt work out great but he was younger then and maybe might be ready for it now. Just whatever they do they need to put him with high skill/ intensity players even if its just guys like eyssimont or goncalves, if they put him with maroon or jeannot they will be setting him up to fail. They just dont fit his playstyle and thats what makes me even more high on him is that in that most previous stint of 14 games he was essentially on a 2 man line, it was him and joesph, they had good chemistry and maroon just looked so out of place

Isn’t it weird how he is so productive in the ahl yet only got to see the ice once this past season. Keopke saw 16 more games than ABB this past season. He’s 26 years old it’s time to stop acting like he is this savior that will come in a league min and play in the top 6 of a team contending for a Stanley cup. If ABB is the replacement for killorn I want JBB gone by tomorrow

yanni gourde? also koepke saw 16 games because he needed a shot after developing well in college and the AHL, he is also 25 btw. I agree on the JBB being gone thing though

Koepke earned the spot in camp/preseason last year, great. He did nothing in Tampa and looked out of place. Then he went back to.Syracuse and had a terrible season. ABB seems to have turned a corner from what I've seen/read, so while the spot isn't guaranteed to be his, he has the best shot. Goncalves is next and then Nemela and Fortier. Being 26/27 has meant little to Tampa, so that's irrelevant imo to a player getting a chance, especially in Tampa with their glacially slow development plan.
