Over pay on brown and oreilly by at least 1 mil
Dont buy out gio let him has the 7 d or burry him in the minor
A 20 man roster dosent work
Chicago gladly accept

So overall need a little bit more work but on the right track

Gio is already considering retirement; Brown gonna command a raise and hes already making over 3.5 your right about the roster size; Jarnkrok can help Bedard and play top 6 mins..too expensive for what his role would be here (bottom 6 and bring no grit)

So youre essentially bringing back the same team that just lost , and has lost. In my oppinion I havent seen enough of Robertson to say he can handle a top 6 role consistently. His injuries are mounting and thats not a good sign for someone so young. The leafs cant afford to pay a guy 6.5M to play on the third line. They need that money to go out and find a legit LW to play with Tavares. and upgrade the D core. I personally expect Samsonov to have a bit of a slowdown year and not as good of a year. All players seem to play above their potential on conttract years. Id be very weary about resigning Samsonov as their starter and expect him to shoulder 65% of the games or more.

Hawks decline. They would take Jarnkrok as part of a larger trade or maybe for F/C. But they aren't paying for him.

Ran out of money to sign someone to replace Robertson..betting on he stays healthy. O'Reiley isnt just a 3rd liner (like Aciari lets say)..hes a PP guy a PK guy and a Glue guy..he brings other intangibles and I dont think hes gonna take much of a pay cut from his 7.5 for his next contract..probably going somewhere else th, but I would love to see him back. I agree with your Sammy evaluation however hes out cheapest option unless your thinking Woll is outr starter..who do you see in Net?

The current version of ROR is not worth 6.5. Someone will pay him 5 and regret it. His legs are done.

hes a tad on the slow side now, I do agree..however he brings more to the table than speed as its never been his strength to begin with..grit, clutch (usually), leadrship, PK some PP, and great touch still (hat trick against the Sabres)..he is making 7.5 now (was)..I dont think hes getting much of a pay cut...what do you think he signs for?

I personally think theyre going to take the easy route and bring Samsonov back. Do I think thats the proper move... no. I think theres far to many players who in their contract years train really hard , focus , and do really well. then once they do well and get the money they kinda fall off again a bit. Not saying thats Samsonov but it COULd be. I dont like signing players to any contract for that money that hes going to want in the 4M area that have had one good year... The team is going to look drastically different next year maybe they wont be as good defencsive ... You may end up seeing a Sammy closer to what you saw in Washington at the end of the year then what you saw in toronto.

Personally.... I really like the Idea of Hellebuyck. For 6.1M then youre going to be able to resign him this year BEFORE the salary cap inflates like crazy after next season. If they can lock him up to a 4 year x6.5Mtheyre laughing.

If im signing Samsonov Im asking him for a 2 year bridge deal. Something like 2x3M
