Canucks pass very easily. the Price would be 3ova Jerick +. Vancouver has no reason to trade Pettersson.

I understand your attachment to Petey being a nucks fan but thats an outrageous ask. Beats every major deal in the last 10: and Petey is not Gretzky.

Has to be a huge overpay to move on from a franchise player. Petey is a proven superstar, and the Canucks identity and marketing is 100% based around him. To Immidietly heal turn and only take back high potential players, the volume of pieces has to be high.

It would be a PR and marketing disaster as well as a super complicated team building move if the Canucks did not get a 1st and two A prospects back

If Canucks were about the press “ka-boom”, the 3rd overall pick would be a good place to start. But CBJ would need to add and work around cap as well. Considering Pettersson is a top-10 asset, I would guess it would look a little like an inflated Eichel trade:

1. Sillinger or Jenner
2. Jiricek or Johnson or 3oa
3. 2024 1st (top-10) or 2023 2rd & 3rd or swap 2023 1sts
4. Cap (Roslovic or excess dman)

For example….
1. Sillinger
2. 3oa
3. 2024 1st
4. Boqvist

…or….
1. Jenner
2. Jiricek
3. Swap of 2023 1sts
4. Roslovic

Thanks for a rare constructive comment. Good points to consider, I am a fan of neither team but it seems like CBJ is loading up and Canucks might want to retool.

In a pure hockey sense the value of two of those pieces is probably close. But for Van to trade it’s franchise player, it would take all three. Has to be a substantial overpay to pry Pettersson
