Trades are usually made to improve your team. How is trading Nylander for Laughton (I won’t even mention the other guy) helping the Leafs win today?

Why would the leafs entertain this; 40+ goal elite scoring winger in his prime for a draft pick + 2 bottom 6 guys. Draft pick won’t contribute for years and we can find bottom6 guys via FA but elite scoring wingers - much harder to come by

Bad return for Nylander, absolutely pointless gain for Flyers. A year of Nylander won't fix squat, and he'll leave asap.

Leafs could easily look for a more competitive team looking to overpay to fix a hole in their team to make the playoffs.

Rarely do I see trades like this Nylander trade that is such a major lose/lose to both teams lol.

The 25 year old that has yet to play a full-season in the NHL, with 75 games career and a career high of 9 goals? Why even put him in a trade? There are better players on waivers. Something he has been on multiple times.
